Construction on a brand new bus station for the centre of Slough is reaching its final stages – ensuring both shoppers and businesses in the town will benefit from better accessibility and more frequent services.

The new facility is being built on Wellington Street, close to shopping areas and Thames Valley University, and is set to change the perceived ‘gloomy’ image of the town with its futuristic and imposing steel structure.

Spring 2011 has been earmarked as the provisional completion date for the project with services commencing from the station soon after.

It’s not just the Slough’s bus users who are set to gain from extra investment in the town’s public transport system though – upgrade works on the Great Western train line in the Reading area over the Christmas period are just the first stage of the multi million pound project to increase capacity and services on the line into and out of London Paddington.

Great news then for those businesses in Slough who are looking to expand their business operations into London and surrounding areas.
