The commercial property market in the City of London is set for a boost with Hammerson’s recent announcement that they plan to offer 500,000 square feet of new office space on the historic London Wall.
If granted planning permission, the project will house office space across two buildings with 121 London Wall becoming a 300,000 square foot headquarter building whilst 123 London Wall will offer space over 16 floors. With both Moorgate and Liverpool Street stations within walking distance of the proposed site, Hammerson expect a high level of interest in the space.
This news follows the announcement by British Land on their plans to spend £35 million refurbishing the 199 Bishopsgate building further to the west in the Square Mile.
Both projects aren’t expected to be completed until 2012 at the very earliest.
