The number of new start up businesses being formed in the UK has shot up in the last 6 months according to a recent survey by the Royal Mail – perhaps a tentative sign that entrepreneurs are seeing more favourable market conditions on the horizon.

According to the report, 39000 new businesses have been launched since April which is a 13% rise on figures gleaned from the previous 6 months. This is a major step forward for the SME community in the UK as the previous 18 months saw a steady decline in those figures.

Cities in the North of England claimed the top 3 growth hotspots in the survey with Sunderland sitting in pole position with a 1.89% growth in new business start ups in the city. Rotherham was close behind with 1.86% whilst Stockton on Tees finished third with 1.76%.

One noticeable trend from the survey was the success of areas outside London and the South East. Commentators believe extra financial support from the EU and competitively priced office space locations are just some of the factors behind this.

It certainly does seem then that the UK’s budding entrepreneurs believe that the economy has finally turned in their favour and are seizing the moment to turn their ideas into reality.

For SME’s and start ups seeking their first business premises, renting serviced office space provides the perfect environment to allow their organisation to grow.

Monthly rent payments, no CAPEX and a dedicated on-site centre management team to help in the day to day running of their office all mean business owners can concentrate on their business without the usual worries associated with renting more traditional office space.
