Demand for office space in Scotland on the rise

UK commercial property experts CBRE have reported a strong rise in demand for office space in Scotland in the first half of 2010.

They claim that whilst the market is still being dominated by smaller deals, overall signs are very encouraging compared with disappointing 2009 results.

The demand for Glasgow office space more than doubled in H1 of 2010 compared to H1 2009 whilst the Edinburgh office rental market saw an increase of 24% over the same period.

There is hope then that this significant change in results will encourage developers to look at sites suitable for new office space.

Abbey Business Centres, operator of three serviced office locations across Scotland, have benefited from the change in market conditions themselves. Over 12,000 square foot of office space has been let to clients so far this year with the prospect of more deals to come.
